Historic goblet with a yellow stain was popular during the Biedermier Period between 1815 and 1848. It is an indicative of the industrialization and urban middle class during that time period.
The glassmaker brushes the glass with a ochre powder and a silver compound and the yellow color appears after firing. The glass is then cut to show the clear glass underneath. Some of the cuts are sand etched to produce a frosted effect. |
