The picture does not do justice to this vase. The blue glass on the lower part of the vase is mottled. This vase is ideal to adorn that special nook or to hold a lovely bouquet of flowers.
The vase is shaped by glass blowers using wooden and iron tools directly at the furnace. A combination of blue and deep amber glass gives interesting color effects and is a reflection of the craftmanship of the glass blower.
Friedrich Egermann began his company in 1832 after he received a patent for his invention of red stain on glass, which took 16 years to perfect. Through this process he elevated the Bohemian glassmaking and won numerous awards.
